My Best Merchandising idea ever?


While reading the Association of Golf Merchandisers feature (PGA Magazine- March issue -Page 196) I had an idea that could be one of my best ever. Start a Facebook Fan Page and linked Instagram account for you golf shop (google it if you don’t know how).

 Having an account for your shop not only gives you a place to promoted the latest gear and apparel but it also gives you shop a personality and chance to build a relationship with your customers. You can give any of your staff access to interact with members and even require each one of them to make one post a day so your activity level is always high.

 Members love hanging out in the golf shop and this gives them a connection to the club and the staff during the week or at other times they can’t visit. You can even run some live promotions like “Anyone who comments what their favorite new apparel line in the shop is in the next hour gets entered for a free shirt.” Things like these pop up give aways will keep members tuned into the club and your golf shop even when they aren’t there. You might even sell some stuff along the way…and wouldn’t that be nice!

Hey Everyone.  Sorry I have been neglecting the website over the last couple of weeks.  It’s really not that hard to do, I just always feel like I need to write something special here an that is why I usually don’t do it.  Most other places I post this like YouTube and Facebook I just post it and maybe add a sentence but here I feel like I need to do more.

Well I guess I will stop thinking that way and just start posting.  I am not a great writer in the first place and that is why I do video.  So there!

Camping at The Masters

Camping for The Masters is a great way for PGA Professionals to enjoy the tournament every year without the expense of inflated hotel prices. ​​

I have done it twice now and love it. Will be doing it again next year and already have a few friend joining me. I will be posting more on the campsite in the hopes that more PGA Members will join us next year.​

Masters Campsite Upgrade?

Thinking about adding a little more comfort 🛋to the campsite ⛺️for Masters Tournament ⛳️this year. I think this could be a game changer. 👌

My first video review of the PGA Magazine!

Since I left day to day operations as a PGA Professional I have been looking for a way to stay involved, give back to the PGA and my fellow Professionals and especially Apprentices.

My hope is to publish a series of videos each month reviewing some of the highlights of the very valuable PGA Magazine. By sharing some highlights I hope to not only remind members how valuable this publication is for ideas and inspiration but to also create a dialogue online to further build on the core principles mentioned in these articles with your comments on your own variations of these best practices.

I would really love to have any feedback so that I can make these videos as valuable as possible. I know the first few of these will be a little rough as I figure it out so please be honest.
